Have you ever just stopped at a moment in your life and felt such an indescribable feeling of joy?
This was one of those moments for me. Playing at the park on our first real family vacation with our twins. Olivia was thought to be cancer free and healthy.
We pushed the kids on the swings, went down the slide, and then stopped for this quick photo as my precious little girl gave me a big ol’ kiss on the cheek.
Total joy.
Little did I know that just 2 weeks later an MRI would confirm that her cancer had returned. And just about 6 months later she would be gone. Those little truths make this moment even more special.
I still have those moments of joy. They just aren’t complete. I watch as my boys play and I smile. Then I imagine just how much more joyful that moment would be if their sister could join in on the fun.
