Yesterday Brett, Wyatt and I made the trip to see our doctor for an anatomy scan to make sure the baby is growing well and to find out the babies gender. Our scan revealed that on December 2, 2014 we will be adding another boy to our family! That’s right…Wyatt and Olivia are going to have a little brother.
The ultrasound showed that our little guy is very healthy and a definite mover and shaker, just like big brother, Wyatt. He was moving around so much that the ultrasound tech had trouble getting measurements.
As usual this exciting announcement has a sad shade to it. Our beautiful little girl, Olivia, will never be here on earth to meet her little brother. Although I am certain that she is watching out for him and will know him well from Heaven, it breaks my heart to know that he won’t know her. He will simply know that he has a sister from what we tell him, but he won’t get to meet her until the day he joins her in Heaven.
Child loss never gets any easier. A new pregnancy and new baby bring great joy but it never replaces the ache for the child that should be here too.
